Perspectives Achieves Joint Commission Accreditation

Perspectives is pleased to announce we have earned Behavioral Healthcare Accreditation for our Intensive Outpatient and Outpatient programs from The Joint Commission. The certification demonstrates Perspective’s commitment to the integration and coordination of behavioral health care services and primary physical health services through a rigorous process of external validation by recognized experts in the field.

Perspectives underwent a rigorous onsite survey on December 17th and 18th, 2018. During the review, a Joint Commission expert surveyor evaluated compliance with a set of standards that focus on the integration and coordination of person-centered health care in order to improve the quality of life for individuals with mental illness or other behavioral health conditions. On December 19th, 2018, Perspectives was given the Behavioral Healthcare Accreditation from The Joint Commission.

“We are delighted to receive Behavioral Healthcare Accreditation from The Joint Commission, the premier health care quality improvement and accrediting body in the nation,” added Jack Chappell, Executive Director, Perspectives. “By achieving this certification, we have demonstrated our commitment to quality and safety consistent with The Joint Commission’s national, consensus-based standards of care. It is a mark of distinction that shows we are operating within an established framework to better meet the needs of the people we serve.”

Launched in January 2014, the certification is available to organizations accredited under The Joint Commission’s Behavioral Health Care Accreditation Program and is awarded for a three-year cycle. Organizations may achieve the certification by providing primary physical health services directly or by coordinating care with physical health care providers.
